Communications Officer Vacancy at Tiggywinkles, The Wildlife Hospital

Here at Tiggywinkles, the World’s busiest, multi-award winning Wildlife Hospital, we are looking for a Communications Officer to join our team on a permanent basis. This role can be offered on a full time or part time basis (minimum 25 hours per week).

In this exciting role you will be responsible for developing and co-ordinating content across our website and social media channels, as well as designing and producing our newsletter and communication media including visitor centre products, animal guides and signage. The main tasks include working with managers and colleagues to design and develop communication products, content creation – both photographic and written – for social media channels and engaging with our audience including responding to direct messages. As well as being the first point of contact for press and media enquiries and working with guests and visitors, including television crews and VIPs.

You will act as the guardian of the brand’s visual identity, voice and ethos, ensuring consistency across all departments and will also have the opportunity to attend rescues to collect photos and videos for use across our platforms and in our newsletters.

To succeed in this role, you will be computer literate, have previous experience in administration and social media, and have excellent storytelling, copywriting and proof-reading skills. Previous experience with Canva, video editing and working with the press would also be an advantage. In addition, you will have a positive disposition, work effectively both on your own initiative and as part of a team, and the ability to remain calm in emergency situations.
