This course is designed for anyone passionate about animal care and welfare – whether you dream of managing a pet shop, grooming dogs, working with wildlife, or caring for exotic species. It provides the knowledge and hands-on skills you need to start or advance your career in the Animal Care Industry.
If you already have experience in animal care or have achieved a Level 2 qualification, this course will help you take the next step. You’ll develop the expertise to progress into more senior roles, move into management, or prepare for higher-level study.
Throughout the course, you’ll explore the science and techniques of professional animal management, with key modules covering animal biology, husbandry, and nutrition. Alongside this, you’ll build practical skills tailored to your interests—ranging from wildlife surveys and animal training to specialist care practices.
Learning takes place through a mix of hands-on workshops, group discussions, research projects, and assignments, giving you both practical ability and theoretical understanding.
Successful completion of this qualification opens the door to higher education, as it carries UCAS points (amount depending on your final grade). You’ll be well-prepared to continue your studies at degree level or to step confidently into senior positions within the animal care sector.
