Here at Tiggywinkles, the World’s busiest, multi-award winning Wildlife Hospital, we are looking for Baby Bird and Mammal Feeders to work in our baby bird and mammal nurseries for our busy season.
This is a six-month fixed term, seasonal opportunity with a number of roles available working different rota patterns. You will need to be available to start at the end of March/beginning of April 2026 and the contract will end on 30th September 2026.
The main tasks are to hand-rear orphaned juvenile wild birds and mammals in order to eventually release them back into the wild, including regular feeding and toileting and keeping those under your care clean and warm. This also includes maintaining high standards of animal husbandry, cleaning and mucking out cages and enclosures, preparing food, and handling a variety of wild animals and birds as necessary, following strict protocols.
To succeed in this role, you will have a positive disposition, work effectively both on your own initiative and as part of a team, and the ability to remain calm in emergency situations. Experience working with animals and an animal care qualification is desirable but not essential. Previous wildlife experience is not necessary as we will provide you with the necessary training.
You will need to be able to work as part of the baby feeding rota on one of the following shift patterns:
