Winter is one of the best times to see our deer roaming in the paddocks, including this year's youngsters as we prepare them for release. The foxes can often be seen making the most of sunny afternoons to lounge and show off the start of their beautiful winter coats.

This is also when we see an increase in small hedgehogs coming through our doors. Many of these youngsters will have got into difficulty whilst trying to fend for themselves away from mum. We are happy to be here to offer them a safe haven whilst we get them ready for life back in the wild.

Visitor Centre

Set in our beautiful gardens in the heart of the Chilterns countryside, Tiggywinkles Visitor Centre is home to some of our permanent animals who cannot be returned to the wild. So a blind hedgehog or 3-legged deer can live here in near-natural conditions, where they can be health-assessed regularly so they can live out the rest of their lives in safety.

The centre also allows visitors to see the work we do first hand and learn about the history of the Hospital, the type of animals we treat and some of the innovative techniques we employ.

We also welcome group visits and are happy to organise tours and talks for all ages, tailored to your group’s needs and interests. If you would like more information or would like to book a tour please click here.

PLEASE NOTE: On 21st February and 22nd February there will be several roads closed in the centre of Haddenham, near the Church and duck pond. This may cause some disruption when trying to get to Tiggywinkles, so you may wish to try and approach us from Stanbridge Road (near the garden centre) if possible.
